Damascus, Aug 15 (SANA)Damascus Citadel hosted vibrant evenings during the “Syria Summer” Festival, welcoming families, children and young people in an atmosphere that brings together the site’s historic character with art, music and entertainment.

The festival transformed the citadel into an open cultural and social space, with its ancient walls providing a backdrop for stage performances and activities, offering visitors a different experience of one of Damascus’ most prominent historic landmarks.

Stage supervisor and presenter Isa al-Husseini told SANA that the citadel’s historic and cultural significance makes it an integral part of the festival, bringing together family, art and entertainment and highlighting the ability of heritage sites to host cultural and artistic activities.

Artist and chanter Haitham al-Halabi said the citadel gives the evening a distinctive character and allows visitors to experience the site beyond its traditional role as an archaeological landmark. He added that the diverse presence at theSyria Summer Festivalreflects a renewed cultural approach and highlights Syrian talents.

Families and children form a major part of the evening scene, enjoying the activities in an atmosphere of interaction and joy.

Wateen Khaled al-Masri expressed her happiness at attending the events, saying that such activities encourage families and children to participate and create experiences that strengthen family bonds.

Young people also add vitality to the evenings through their interaction with the events. Visitor Dhafer Khattab said the festival’s ability to attract different segments of society, particularly young people, reflects the diversity of its programs. He praised the organization of the festival and expressed hope that such events would continue.

With stage lights illuminating the ancient stone walls, theDamascus Citadelbecomes a vibrant meeting point for art, families and the public, adding new memories to the story of the city.
