President Dr Mohamed Muizzu officiated the ceremony commemorating the National Day of the Maldives, held this morning in HA. Utheemu, with First Lady Sajidha Mohamed in attendance.

During the ceremony, the President addressed the nation and conferred the National Award of Honour and the National Award of Recognition upon their respective recipients.

This year, the National Award of Honour was conferred upon three individuals and one organisation, while the National Award of Recognition was presented to eight individuals and one company. In addition, the National Award for Recognition was conferred posthumously upon one individual.

The ceremony was attended by Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef; Speaker of the People’s Majlis, Honourable Abdul Raheem Abdulla; Chief Justice Honourable Uz Abdul Ghanee Mohamed; Cabinet Ministers; senior Government officials; and other distinguished guests.
