總統參拜靈台山建德寺地母廟 強調全力推動雲林建設、照顧鄉親

President Lai Ching-te went to the "Lingtai Mountain Jiande Temple Dimu Temple" this morning (15th) to pray for blessings and thank God for blessing Taiwan. He also stated that the government fully supports various construction projects in Yunlin, including promoting geriatric medicine, strengthening farmer care, and improving local transportation construction, which are all important tasks related to the future development of Yunlin. In the future, the government will continue to work hand in hand with local governments and villagers to fully promote the construction of Yunlin, take care of Yunlin villagers, and ensure the sustainable development of Yunlin.

In his speech, the president said that the Dimu Temple of Jiande Temple in Yunlin Gukeng was built in the 34th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, and the incense has been passed down for nearly 120 years. The Supreme Mother of the Earth is in charge of all things on earth, so she came here to pay homage today to pray for the people of Taiwan, peace and prosperity for the country and the people, and good weather. She also bless Gukeng and Yunlin to be free from disasters at all times and have celebrations during the eight festivals, and that all good men and women, and their families, will be safe.

The president said that in addition to praying for blessings during this trip, he also paid special thanks to God for blessing him with a smooth election and local peace. Under the leadership of Chairman Chen Xinhong, the Dimu Temple of Jiande Temple is not only an important local faith center, but has also long-term investment in charity and relief for the poor. Today, he was even more warmly welcomed, which made him very grateful.

Talking about the major construction in Yunlin, the president pointed out that in terms of medical resources, when he served at National Cheng Kung University Hospital in the past, he often saw Yunlin villagers taking buses to Tainan for medical treatment in the middle of the night. He is well aware of the impact of insufficient medical resources on people's health and lives. Therefore, the government promotes the expansion of the Huwei Campus of the Yunlin Branch of National Taiwan University Hospital. The related construction is in accordance with the specifications of the medical center. The funding exceeds 10 billion yuan, and the central government also fully supports it. After the future construction is completed, not only the folks in Yunlin will benefit, but people in neighboring areas such as Chiayi, Nantou, and Changhua will also be able to receive medical services in Yunlin.

The President mentioned that Legislator Liu Jianguo actively sought to establish a national geriatric medicine, health and welfare and related research center in Yunlin as early as during the term of President Tsai Ing-wen. After he took office, Legislator Liu Jianguo continued to promote relevant plans, and the government also fully supported it, deciding to locate relevant national-level construction in Yunlin to take care of Yunlin's elders. These constructions are all important and major constructions related to the future development of Yunlin.

The president said that Yunlin is the agricultural capital of Taiwan. Farmers have been working hard for many years, relying on the weather to produce food for the people of Taiwan. It is very hard for them; the government has the responsibility to provide more support and care. Therefore, he has asked the Executive Yuan to increase the allowance for elderly farmers to NT$10,000 per person per month; farmers participating in the national pension can receive NT$5,000 per person per month to further improve farmers' living security.

The President pointed out that in order to solve the dust problem in Zhuoshui Creek and take care of the Yunlin folks, he asked the ministries of the Executive Yuan to work with local governments to discuss solutions. Therefore, the government has allocated relevant funds to continue to improve the dust situation in Zhuoshui Creek; in addition, it has also invested funds to promote the construction of the horizontal side lanes of the Gukeng Interchange on National Highway 3, the Qingshui Creek Bridge and other related constructions.

The president said that Yunlin is also a holy place for democracy. In the face of China's continued suppression, we hope that Yunlin folks will unite together, adhere to the concepts of democracy, freedom and human rights, and jointly protect national sovereignty.

Legislator Liu Jianguo, Gukeng Township Mayor Lin Huiru, and Chairman of Dimu Temple of Jiande Temple in Lingtai Mountain Chen Xinhong also attended the event.
