Más de 44,000 familias de Monte Plata reciben protección social a través de Supérate

Monte Plata.-The Directorate of Social Development Supérates held a meeting in Monte Plata, to learn first-hand about the real impact of social programs and listen to the needs of the community. In this province, the Dominican Government maintains a social protection scheme that benefits more than 44,000 vulnerable households.

The general director of Supérate, Mayra Jiménez, highlighted that in this province the institution protects 44,192 families in the municipalities of Bayaguana, Monte Plata, Sabana Grande de Boyá, Yamasá and Peralvillo.

Jiménez detailed that 43,529 families receive the Alimentate subsidy, and of this amount 39,558 households also have the Gas Bonus and 13,713 also receive the Light Bonus, that is, stress subsidies.

In addition, institutional support is extended to education through the Learn and Advance incentives, which provide coverage to 6,425 households with girls, boys, and adolescents in school.

Social protection in Monte Plata includes programs aimed at populations in conditions of greater vulnerability and dependence. In this area, Superate, through the National Fund for Children and Adolescents with Disabilities, currently benefits 210 families, as part of the actions aimed at guaranteeing comprehensive protection and focused attention to this population.

In this meeting, which was attended by more than 500 people, the director of the Higuamo Regional, Alin Mercedes, expressed that this dialogue has the purpose of strengthening the attention and support received by the beneficiary families of the programs developed by the institution in the territory.

During the day, the participating families valued the support they receive from the Dominican Government, through Supérate, while the institution's teams offered guidance on the services and programs provided, and also took notes on the families' needs and suggestions.

These actions are part of the national socio-family support strategy promoted by Supérate, aimed at strengthening the capacities of families, promoting social inclusion and contributing to overcoming poverty in Dominican households in situations of vulnerability.
