Presidente Peña y la Conferencia Episcopal articulan acciones ante principales desafíos sociales
The meeting, held at the Metropolitan Seminary, responded to an invitation from the Executive to learn first-hand about the concerns that the Church identifies from its presence and permanent accompaniment in the communities. The table allowed the authorities responsible for different public policies to meet with bishops from different areas of the national territory.
The dialogue focused on four priority topics: access to health; preparation and response to the El Niño phenomenon; care of nature and the environment; and comprehensive care for indigenous communities, with emphasis on populations that have the greatest conditions of vulnerability.
Community needs and State responses
From their pastoral and territorial experience, the representatives of the Church shared the situations they encounter in the communities and placed special emphasis on the difficulties of access to health and the living conditions of indigenous communities.
On the part of the Executive, the authorities presented progress and actions that are underway in different areas. Among them, results in terms of security, land regularization through INDERT, the construction of large hospitals and institutional preparation for climate emergencies stood out.
The exchange also made it possible to identify areas where important challenges still exist, particularly in health and comprehensive care for indigenous communities. The Government expressed its willingness to incorporate the territorial experience of the Church as a contribution to bringing public policies closer to the specific needs of the people.
A dialogue channel to bring solutions
The meeting was headed by President Santiago Peña and included, on behalf of the Executive, Vice President Pedro Alliana and authorities from the areas of Interior, Agriculture and Livestock, Education, Health, Housing, Social Development, INDERT, INDI, IPS and Worship, as well as ministers advisors to the Presidency.
Participating in the Episcopal Conference were, among others, its president and bishop of San Pedro, Monsignor Pierre Laurent Jubinville; Cardinal Adalberto Martínez Flores, archbishop of the Most Holy Assumption; and the apostolic nuncio in Paraguay, Monsignor Vincenzo Turturro, along with bishops from different dioceses and vicariates of the country.
The president of the CEP, Monsignor Pierre Laurent Jubinville, valued the event and expressed the interest that this type of meeting could continue, in order to maintain the needs of the most vulnerable sectors in the dialogue with the authorities and contribute to the search for solutions.
The meeting thus left open a working channel between the Government and the Church, based on the territorial knowledge provided by pastoral work and the response capacity of State institutions. The purpose is that this exchange contributes to identifying needs, coordinating actions and bringing concrete responses to communities, with the common good as a meeting point.

El encuentro, realizado en el Seminario Metropolitano, respondió a una invitación del Ejecutivo para conocer de primera mano las preocupaciones que la Iglesia identifica a partir de supresencia y acompañamiento permanente en las comunidades. La mesa permitió reunir a las autoridades responsables de diferentes políticas públicas con obispos provenientes de distintas zonas del territorio nacional. El diálogo se concentró encuatro temas prioritarios: acceso a la salud; preparación y respuesta ante el fenómeno de El Niño; cuidado de la naturaleza y el ambiente; y atención integral a las comunidades indígenas, con énfasis en las poblaciones que presentan mayores condiciones de vulnerabilidad. Necesidades de las comunidades y respuestas del Estado Desde su experiencia pastoral y territorial, los representantes de la Iglesia compartieron las situaciones que encuentran en las comunidades y pusieron especial énfasis enlas dificultades de acceso a la salud y las condiciones de vida de las comunidades indígenas. Por parte del Ejecutivo, las autoridades presentaron avances y acciones que se encuentran en marcha en diferentes áreas. Entre ellos se destacaronresultados en materia de seguridad, la regularización de tierras a través del INDERT, la construcción de grandes hospitales y la preparación institucional frente a emergencias climáticas. El intercambio permitió también identificar los ámbitos donde todavía existen desafíos importantes, particularmente ensalud y atención integral a las comunidades indígenas. El Gobierno manifestó su disposición a incorporar la experiencia territorial de la Iglesia como un aporte para acercar las políticas públicas a las necesidades concretas de las personas. Un canal de diálogo para acercar soluciones El encuentro fue encabezado por elpresidente Santiago Peñay contó, por parte del Ejecutivo, con el vicepresidentePedro Allianay autoridades de las áreas deInterior, Agricultura y Ganadería, Educación, Salud, Vivienda, Desarrollo Social, INDERT, INDI, IPS y Culto, además de ministros asesores de la Presidencia. Por la Conferencia Episcopal participaron, entre otros, su presidente y obispo de San Pedro,monseñor Pierre Laurent Jubinville; elcardenal Adalberto Martínez Flores, arzobispo de la Santísima Asunción; y el nuncio apostólico en Paraguay,monseñor Vincenzo Turturro, junto con obispos de diferentes diócesis y vicariatos del país. Elpresidente de la CEP, monseñor Pierre Laurent Jubinville, valoró la instancia y manifestó el interés de que este tipo de encuentros pueda tener continuidad, de manera amantener las necesidades de los sectores más vulnerables en el diálogo con las autoridades y contribuir a la búsqueda de soluciones. La reunión dejó así abierto uncanal de trabajo entre el Gobierno y la Iglesia, basado en el conocimiento territorial que aporta la labor pastoral y en la capacidad de respuesta de las instituciones del Estado. El propósito es que este intercambio contribuya aidentificar necesidades, coordinar acciones y acercar respuestas concretas a las comunidades, con el bien común como punto de encuentro.
