State House, Banjul, 13th August 2026:The President of the Republic of The Gambia, His Excellency Adama Barrow, has declared Saturday, 15th August 2026, as a public holiday throughout the country in observation of the Christian feast of Assumption Day, Commonly known as ‘Sang Marie’.

The President wishes the Christian community a blessed celebration.
