The President of the Republic, José Antonio Kast, led this Friday the signing of a public-private collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Health, Fonasa and the Los Andes Compensation Fund, within the framework of the Enlace Plan. The initiative seeks to reduce waiting periods for Non-GES specialty consultations by integrating private capacities into the state healthcare network. Starting September 1, in the first phase of the alliance, 50 thousand cases on the waiting list for new Non-GES specialty consultations of members of Fonasa—groups B, C and D—and the Los Andes Compensation Fund will be able to access care from health providers in agreement. The benefits will be concentrated in four high-frequency specialties: Otorhinolaryngology, Obstetrics, Ophthalmology and Traumatology. "The Chilean agenda always mentions safety and health. Because health does not only affect a person, it affects a family, it affects the environment of the person who has a disease. We have been advancing in the public-private, which is something that was somewhat forgotten. Some put the emphasis only on the public, others only on the private, and nothing better than uniting the two worlds and ensuring that the person is at the center again. This is not a problem of what idea I have, whether I have an idea A or B of how to provide the health service, but rather how I put the person at the center," said the President in the activity. All benefited patients will have zero co-payment at the provider, regardless of the Fonasa section to which they belong, and will receive comprehensive care that includes consultation, examinations and delivery of medications, orthoses or lenses as appropriate. It is estimated that during this initial two-month stage, approximately 150 thousand benefits will be made, for a total value of $3.9 billion, of which Fonasa finances $1.5 billion and the balance is assumed by the Los Andes Compensation Fund. The agreement is part of the Link Plan of the Ministry of Health, launched on March 11, 2026, which links the State with various institutions of organized civil society - universities, foundations and professional associations, among others - with the aim of collaborating in the reduction of No GES waiting lists throughout the country. El Presidente de la República, José Antonio Kast, encabezó este viernes la firma de un convenio de colaboración público-privada entre el Ministerio de Salud, Fonasa y la Caja de Compensación Los Andes, en el marco del Plan Enlace. La iniciativa busca reducir los períodos de espera para consultas de especialidad No GES mediante la integración de capacidades privadas a la red asistencial estatal.A partir del 1 de septiembre, en una primera fase de la alianza, 50 mil casos en lista de espera por consultas de nueva especialidad No GES de afiliados a Fonasa —grupos B, C y D— y a la Caja de Compensación Los Andes podrán acceder a atención en prestadores de salud en convenio. Las prestaciones se concentrarán en cuatro especialidades de alta frecuencia: Otorrinolaringología, Obstetricia, Oftalmología y Traumatología."La agenda de los chilenos siempre menciona la seguridad y la salud. Porque la salud no afecta solamente a una persona, afecta a una familia, afecta al entorno de la persona que tiene alguna enfermedad. Hemos ido avanzando en lo público-privado, que es algo que estaba algo olvidado. Algunos ponían el acento solamente en lo público, otros solamente en lo privado, y nada mejor que unir los dos mundos y lograr que la persona de nuevo esté en el centro. Este no es un problema de qué idea tengo yo, si tengo una idea A o B de cómo prestar el servicio de salud, sino cómo pongo a la persona en el centro", señaló el Presidente en la actividad.Todos los pacientes beneficiados tendrán copago cero en el prestador, independientemente del tramo de Fonasa al que pertenezcan, y recibirán atención integral que contempla consulta, realización de exámenes y entrega de medicamentos, órtesis o lentes según corresponda. Se estima que durante esta etapa inicial de dos meses se realizarán aproximadamente 150 mil prestaciones, por un valor total de $3.900 millones, de los cuales Fonasa financia $1.500 millones y el saldo es asumido por la Caja de Compensación Los Andes.
