Inefi y Fedogolf premian a 32 ganadores del Campamento de Verano de Golf Escolar 2026
Santo Domingo.-The National Institute of Physical Education and the Dominican Golf Federation (Fedogolf) awarded 32 winners of the Second Inefi School Golf Summer Camp “Swing to the Future”, a contest that was held at the Isabel Villas Golf Club with the aim of continuing to massify and integrate the practice of this discipline in the Dominican school environment.
The initiative seeks to debunk the myth that golf is an exclusive sport, opening the doors to young talents from the country's schools to develop in non-traditional disciplines.
The event brought together students from public educational centers and private schools, who are part of Inefi's sports initiation clinics and programs.
The 32 winners were recognized in different categories according to their age and gender (female and male), with an evaluation based on their technical skills such as swing precision, short game and on-field strategy.
The purpose of the event was to strengthen comprehensive training, promoting the fundamental values of golf such as discipline, honesty, self-control and mutual respect.
In that sense, the Inefi communications manager, Braian Cordero, representing its executive director, Alberto Rodríguez Mella, congratulated the organizers of the camp, as well as the president of Fedogolf, Enrique Valverde, and the president of the neighborhood association, Guillermo Garrido.
For his part, Enrique Valverde stated that it was a tremendous honor and said he felt very satisfied with the results of the tournament, thanking Inefi for the support that has been given to the initiation program of that discipline.
“I feel very happy and grateful to Alberto Rodríguez and Inefi for carrying out this initiative that arose three years ago and that began as a dream,” declared Valverde.
He revealed that the program will continue to develop throughout the school year and hopes that the students who make the commitment to participate in practices and competitions will continue to strive because a champion or an outstanding technician could emerge from them in the future.
“Golf can open many doors for each of you, since you can develop not only as players, but also as technicians, teachers and instructors,” he said.
Valverde thanked Isabel Villas Golf Club for providing the land and “opening the doors of this course where we could successfully hold this tournament.”
The Fedogolffe executive congratulated the teachers, coaches and monitors who made an effort to ensure that the students fully integrated into the training and to instill in them discipline, patience, perseverance and honesty.

En ese sentido, el encargado de comunicaciones del Inefi,Braian Cordero, en representación de su director ejecutivo,Alberto Rodríguez Mella, felicitó a los organizadores del campamento, así como al presidente de la Fedogolf,Enrique Valverde, y al presidente de la junta de vecinos,Guillermo Garrido. De su lado, Enrique Valverde manifestó que era un tremendo honor y dijo sentirsemuy satisfecho con los resultados del torneo, agradeciendo al Inefi por elsoporteque se le ha dado alprograma de iniciaciónde esa disciplina. “Me siento muy feliz y agradecido con Alberto Rodríguez y al Inefi por llevar a cabo esta iniciativa que surgió hace tres años y que comenzó como un sueño”,declaró Valverde. Reveló que el programa continuará desarrollándosetodo el año escolary espera que los alumnos que asuman el compromiso de participar en las prácticas y competencias continúen esforzándose porquede ellos podría salir un campeón o un destacado técnicoen el futuro. “El golf puede abrir muchas puertas a cada uno de ustedes, ya que se pueden desarrollar no sólo como jugadores, sino también como técnicos, profesores y monitores”,sostuvo. Valverde agradeció a Isabel Villas Golf Club por facilitar los terrenos y“abrirnos las puertas de este campo en el que pudimos llevar con éxito este torneo”.
