Riyadh, Aug. 14 (SANA)Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman and Lt. Gen. Abdul Amir al-Shammari, director of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, discussed military and defense cooperation and regional developments during talks in Riyadh.

The two officials reviewedSaudi-Iraqi relationsin the military and defense sectors and stressed the importance of continued coordination between the two countries to advance shared interests and support regional security and stability, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported Thursday.

The talks come amid continued contacts between Riyadh and Baghdad over regional security developments.

On Aug. 7, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi held talks with Saudi intelligence chief Khalid bin Ali al-Humaidan on strengthening coordination and cooperation over recent security developments in the region.KA.ABD
