<Measures against high prices ⑤>

To begin with, economic growth is accompanied by a certain level of price rise. Originally, successive governments since the Abe Cabinet and the Bank of Japan have continued to make efforts to sustainably achieve the ``2% price stability target (2% year-on-year increase in consumer prices).''

Unless companies reflect "costs" in "prices of products and services," "employee salaries" will not increase, and "research and development" and "capital investment to improve productivity" will not be possible.

If ``employee salaries'' and ``productivity'' do not increase, ``demand'' will not increase, and companies' ``supply capacity'' will not increase either.

The disadvantage of deflation is that consumers think that ``next year's prices will be cheaper than this year'' and postpone their purchases, resulting in a vicious cycle in which neither ``demand'' nor ``supply'' increases.

Now is the time for both companies and consumers to ``change'' from the long-continued ``deflationary mindset'' in order for Japan's economy to grow.

Takaichi Cabinet is focusing on creating an environment in which wage increases can exceed price increases. Thanks to the efforts of both labor and management, the upward trend in wages has taken root.

In July, we also revised our Corporate Governance Code.

Going forward, the Takauchi Cabinet's policy is to increase domestic investment, raise the potential growth rate, and build a strong economy by promoting the Japan Growth Strategy and Regional Future Strategy, which the public and private sectors are working on together.

Tax revenue will increase without raising the tax rate. Products and services originating in Japan can solve common global issues and ensure Japan's "autonomy" and "indispensability." Industrial clusters will also develop in rural areas. Throughout the Japanese archipelago, there are places where people can live safely, receive necessary medical care, welfare, and high-quality education, and work.

Making the Japanese archipelago strong and prosperous. This challenge has just begun, but if we don't do it now, we won't be able to make it in time. So I'll grit my teeth and do my best.

Notes
