Bonn, Aug. 14 (SANA)Syrian officials and Germany’s Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) discussed expanding cooperation in rescue operations, disaster response and humanitarian assistance during a visit to the agency’s headquarters in Bonn,Syria’s Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Managementsaid Thursday.

The Syrian delegation, comprising officials from specialized departments at the ministry, discussed exchanges of expertise with THW, drawing on the experience ofSyrian Civil Defense teamsin search-and-rescue operations and responses to disasters and major emergencies, the ministry said on Telegram.

The two sides also discussed training and capacity-building programs and agreed to develop a joint action plan covering practical measures and projects, according to the ministry.

The talks were aimed at strengthening technical and institutional cooperation in emergency preparedness and disaster response.
