Damascus, Aug. 14 (SANA)Ahli Aleppowon the 2025-2026 Syrian Basketball Cup after beating Homs al-Fidaa 69-62 in the final at al-Fayhaa Sports Hall inDamascuson Thursday.

The teams remained closely matched for much of the game, although Ahli Aleppo held a narrow advantage and went into halftime leading 41-34.

Ahli Aleppo maintained their lead through the third and fourth quarters despiteHomsal-Fidaa’s attempts to close the gap, with Abdulwahab al-Hamwi making a strong contribution under the basket and the team finding success from three-point range.

The seven-point victory gave Ahli Aleppo their record-extending 12th Syrian Cup title and provided a measure of redemption after their defeat toal-Wahdain the league final.
