His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended greetings to the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, His Excellency Asif Ali Zardari, and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, His Excellency Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

In separate letters, the President extended warm felicitations and best wishes to the leaders, the government and the brotherly people of Pakistan.

In his letter to President Zardari, President Dr Muizzu emphasised the importance the Maldives attaches to the enduring ties of friendship between the two countries and expressed his commitment to expanding cooperation across various sectors.

In his letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Dr Muizzu noted the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Pakistan, expressing confidence that their longstanding partnership would continue to flourish in the years ahead.

Concluding his letters, President Dr Muizzu conveyed his best wishes for the good health and wellbeing of both leaders and for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Pakistan.
