Egypt, Türkiye stress need to preserve Syria’s unity, condemn Israeli violations

Cairo, Aug. 13 (SANA)Egyptian Foreign MinisterBadr Abdelattyand his Turkish counterpart,Hakan Fidan, stressed on Thursday the importance of preserving Syria’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, while condemning Israeli violations of Syrian territory.

Speaking at a joint news conference with Fidan following their talks in Cairo, Abdelatty said the discussions had addressed developments in Syria, according to Egyptian media.

The two sides agreed to continue efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, help Syria resume its natural role in the region, and support an inclusive, Syrian-led political process, Abdelatty said.

He added that the talks had also covered developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, with Egypt and Türkiye reaffirming their rejection and condemnation of Israeli violations against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
