DECRET N°100/ 107 DU 12 AOUT 2026 PORTANT REVOCATION D’UN OFFICIER DE LA POLICE NATIONALE DU BURUNDI
On the morning of this Thursday, August 11, 2026, the President of the Republic of Burundi and Acting President of the African Union, His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye, received in audience, Wednesday at the Ntare Rushatsi Palace, the Burkinabé Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Traoré Karamoko Jean-Marie.
The mission of the visit of the Burkinabe Minister in charge of Cooperation was part of the first Joint Cooperation Commission between Burundi and Burkina Faso, which must concretize an orientation which had been given by His Excellency Ndayishimiye to his Burkinabe counterpart H.E Captain Ibrahim Traoré, during his stay in the capital of the “Land of Upright Men”.
During this stay, the Burkinabè Minister of Foreign Affairs was instructed to ensure that the experts of this joint cooperation commission meet, in order to work on new strategic areas of strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
The Burkinabé Minister of Foreign Affairs also came with a messenger from the Burkinabé President His Excellency Captain Ibrahim Traoré. Through his message, President Traoré reiterates his debt of thanks and recognition to his Burundian counterpart for the trip he made to Burkina Faso in March 2026. In the opinion of the Emissary, His Excellency's visit to Burkina Faso was all the more praised as it was the first made by a President of the African Union in one of the countries of the AES Federation. “It was a strong signal to his peers regarding the situation in the Sahel countries,” reiterated the Burkinabè Minister.
This visit therefore boosts the good relations of friendship, fraternity and cooperation that have existed between the two countries for a long time. Even more, it is an opportunity to remind the great African family to remain in solidarity with the countries of the Sahel, which, today more than yesterday, “need more listening than rejection”, as His Excellency the Burundian President and current President of the African Union hammered home in Ouagadougou.

Dans la matinée de ce jeudi 11 août 2026, le Président de la République du Burundi et Président en Exercice de l’Union Africaine, Son Excellence Evariste Ndayishimiye, a reçu en audience, mercredi au palais Ntare Rushatsi, le Ministre burkinabé des Affaires étrangères, Monsieur Traoré Karamoko Jean-Marie. La mission de la visite du Ministre burkinabé ayant la Coopération dans ses attributions s’inscrivait dans le cadre de la première Commission mixte de coopération entre le Burundi et le Burkina Faso, laquelle doit concrétiser une orientation qui avait été donnée par Son Excellence Ndayishimiye à son Homologue burkinabè S.E le capitaine Ibrahim Traoré, lors de son séjour dans la capitale du « Pays des Hommes Intègres ». Lors de ce séjour, le Ministre Burkinabè des Affaires étrangères avait été instruit de faire en sorte que les experts de cette commission mixte de coopération se rencontrent, afin de travailler sur de nouveaux axes stratégiques de renforcement de la coopération entre les deux pays. Le Ministre Burkinabé des Affaires étrangères venait aussi avec un messager du Président Burkinabé Son Excellence Capitaine Ibrahim Traoré. A travers son message, le Président Traoré réitère sa dette de remerciements et de reconnaissance à son Homologue burundais pour le voyage qu’il a effectué au Burkina Faso au mois de mars 2026. De l’avis de l’Emissaire, la visite de Son Excellence au Burkina Faso a été d’autant plus louée qu’elle était la première effectuée par un Président de l’Union Africaine dans l’un des pays de la Fédération de l’AES. “C’était un signal fort à l’adresse de ses pairs par rapport à la situation des pays du Sahel », a réitéré le Ministre burkinabè. Cette visite vient donc mettre un coup d’accélérateur aux bonnes relations d’amitié, de fraternité et de coopération qui existent entre les deux pays depuis longtemps. Bien plus, elle se trouve être une occasion de rappeler à la grande famille africaine de rester solidaire avec les pays du Sahel, qui, aujourd’hui plus qu’hier, « ont besoin plus d’écoute que de rejet », comme l’avait martelé à Ouagadougou Son Excellence le Président burundais et Président en Exercice de l’Union Africaine.
