During the meeting, the two sides discussed Iraqi-British bilateral relations and the importance of strengthening cooperation and partnerships across various fields in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two friendly countries. The meeting also addressed the latest developments in the region, with emphasis on the importance of concerted regional and international efforts to ease tensions and on adopting dialogue and communication as a means to end crises and consolidate security and stability. The British Ambassador affirmed his country’s support for the Iraqi government’s efforts to combat corruption, its financial reform measures, strengthening the rule of law, and confining arms exclusively to state authority, thereby contributing to consolidating stability and strengthening state institutions.
