El Intrant abre oficinas de licencias en Montecristi y Dajabón
Montecristi.–The National Institute of Traffic and Land Transportation (Intrant) launched driver's license offices for the first time in the provinces of Montecristi and Dajabón, expanding the coverage of the new National Driver's License System in the border area of the country.
Both agencies have the capacity to issue up to 200 driver's licenses per day each, reaching a joint operational capacity of up to 400 documents per day.
According to the 2025 Vehicle Park Report of the General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII), the opening will directly benefit approximately 69,122 vehicle owners: 44,124 in Montecristi and 24,998 in Dajabón.
"With these openings we are bringing the transformation of the National Driver's License System to two strategic provinces on our border. This means services closer to the people, less travel and a State with greater capacity to respond to the needs of citizens," said the executive director of Intrant, Milton Morrison.
In Montecristi, the office is located on Libertad Avenue, municipality of Villa Vásquez, while in Dajabón it operates on Dulce de Jesús Senfleur Avenue, corner of Fernando Valerio Street.
The agencies have multidisciplinary teams to develop the different stages of the licensing process, which include registration; capture of signature, fingerprints and photograph; driver education; theoretical exams; Cemeco evaluations; practical driving tests for motorcyclists; typification; printing and delivery of the document.
Citizens will be able to process a learning card, first license, renewal, duplicate due to loss or deterioration, and motorcycle licenses. Likewise, attention will be provided to members of the National Police.
The offices will offer services to the public from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon.
With these additions, Intrant continues to advance in the decentralization of the National Driver's License System, expanding its territorial presence and facilitating the access of citizens in the border area to these services.
