Missing persons’ commission responds to two reports of human remains in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor, Aug. 13 (SANA)Teams from theNational Commission for Missing Persons, in coordination with the relevant bodies, responded to two reports ofhuman remainsdiscovered in al Rasafa neighborhood ofDeir Ezzorcity and in al Kashma desert in the eastern countryside of the province.

“Specialized teams began work at both sites in accordance with approved professional protocols and standards for documenting, collecting, and recovering remains, ensuring the preservation of evidence and the dignity of the victims,” the commission said in a statement on Thursday.

It affirmed that work is underway, in coordination with the institutions concerned to determine the fate of missing persons and uphold families’ right to know the truth.

The Commission, which oversees missing person cases and manages sites suspected of containing human remains ormass graves, stressed that professionally conducted documentation and recovery operations are essential for preserving evidence, identifying the remains, and linking them to missing person files, enabling families to receive official results through established procedures.
