The Korean gang members who infiltrated Kazakhstan via Cambodia and Vietnam and committed voice phishing crimes against Korean citizens were all repatriated to Korea and are being investigated by the police two weeks after they were arrested there.
The rapid progress from arrest to repatriation was possible thanks to the active support and cooperation of Kazakh President Tokayev and the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to President Tokayev and the relevant authorities. I look forward to meeting you in person and saying hello to you at the Korea-Central Asia Summit held next month.
We will not make any exceptions for crimes that harm the safety and peaceful daily lives of the people of the Republic of Korea. No matter where they are hiding, we will track them down to the end and make sure they are brought to justice.
