Today, the H3 rocket No. 9 was launched from the Tanegashima Space Center, and the quasi-zenith satellite "Michibiki No. 7" on board is now flying toward a predetermined orbit.
This launch of the H3 rocket is a consecutive success following the launch in June. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone involved for their efforts thus far.
The H3 rocket is an extremely important core rocket that supports the independence of Japan's space activities. Through repeated development and testing, we have steadily improved reliability. In order to meet the diverse domestic and international launch demand, we will continue to work to strengthen our rocket launch capabilities.
The launch of Michibiki 7 will strengthen the capabilities of Japan's satellite positioning system and further expand the range of highly accurate positioning services. We hope that preparations for the start of full-scale operation of Michibiki Unit 7 from February to March next year will proceed smoothly.
Investing in space is an "important investment in the next generation of national infrastructure" that supports security, economy, and people's lives. The Takauchi Cabinet has positioned the space field as one of the 17 strategic fields of the Japan Growth Strategy, and we will continue to strengthen support for technology development and private businesses through the Space Strategy Fund, and aim to lead the world as one of the advanced space nations.

本日、種子島宇宙センターより、H3ロケット9号機が打ち上げられ、搭載された準天頂衛星「みちびき7号機」は所定の軌道に向けて飛行中です。 今回のH3ロケットの打上げは、6月の打上げに続く、連続での成功となります。 関係者の皆様のこれまでのご尽力に、感謝を申し上げます。 H3ロケットは、我が国の宇宙活動の自立性を支える極めて重要な基幹ロケットです。 これまでの開発・試験の積み重ねを経て、着実に信頼性を高めてきました。 国内外の多様な打上げ需要に応えるため、引き続きロケット打上げ能力の強化に取り組んでまいります。 「みちびき7号機」の打上げにより、日本の衛星測位システムの能力が強化され、精度の高い測位サービスの利用範囲がさらに充実します。 来年2月から3月頃の「みちびき7号機」の本格運用開始に向けた準備が順調に進むことを期待しています。 宇宙への投資は、安全保障・経済・国民生活を支える「次世代の国家インフラへの重要な投資」です。 高市内閣では、「宇宙分野」を『日本成長戦略』の「17の戦略分野」に位置づけており、今後も宇宙戦略基金による技術開発や民間事業者への支援を強化し、宇宙先進国の一角として世界をリードしてまいります。
