South Africa already has significant capability in steel fabrication, in electrical equipment, distribution transformers and power transformers. As I was saying about the battery that now powers my solar, we must use the transmission program deliberately to rebuild and expand this capability. We should not find ourselves 10 years down the line with a vastly expanded transmission grid but a diminished domestic manufacturing cap uh capability that would represent a missed historical or historic cap opportunity. The transmission program must therefore become both an industrialization program and a national skills program. It will require engineers. It will require electricians. It will require welders and boiler makers from yourselves.
