Beirut, Aug. 13 (SANA)Lebanon is determined to extend state authority across its territory, Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji said Thursday, reiterating calls for a complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory.

Rajji made the remarks during talks in Beirut with a Jordanian parliamentary delegation, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency.

He stressed the need to rebuild areas damaged by conflict, facilitate the return of residents to their villages and secure the release of Lebanese prisoners.

The Jordanian delegation expressed full support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and the Lebanese state’s efforts to restore its authority and ensure that weapons remain exclusively in the hands of the state, the agency reported.

The delegation also reaffirmed Jordan’s support forLebanonacross various sectors.

Rajji said on July 26 that the Lebanese state would continue efforts to restore its full authority, describing the exclusive possession of weapons by legitimate state institutions as a priority.F.J./ABD
