International Youth Day: “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations”

In this context, the United Nations (UN) underlines the importance of investing in young people, involving them in decision-making processes and fostering global solidarity. Slovenia is committed to ensuring that the voices of young people are heard on the international stage. The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs encourages young people to participate in the development and implementation of foreign policy, and to play an active role in multilateral processes. A key part of these efforts is the UN Youth Delegate and Youth Climate Delegate programmes. These programmes provide young people with direct insight into how responses to the key challenges of our shared future are shaped, and give them the opportunity to participate in these processes and represent their interests.

It is also important to engage young people in international cooperation, as they will be the agents of future change and vital partners in addressing global challenges. Their diverse experiences and circumstances can contribute to the development of inclusive solutions, while their shared aspirations can form the basis of cooperation and solidarity, paving the way for a more peaceful and sustainable future.
