Concepción suma un nuevo CAIPI y amplía la atención integral a la primera infancia
The new CAIPI will allow children from four months of age to be received and monitor their development during a decisive stage of early childhood. It has rooms adapted by age range, a specialized dining room with nutritional monitoring, a breastfeeding room and spaces for safe and inclusive recreation. Added to this are Civil Registry, Family and Pediatric Health services, as well as guidance and support for families.
The launch of the center is part of the Government day developed by President Santiago Peña in Concepción, with an agenda that integrates actions in early childhood, health, security, infrastructure, productive development and housing.
Attention from the first months and support to families
Semillas del Futuro seeks to intervene in one of the stages with the greatest impact on people's development, prioritizing the first 1,000 days of life. The model also facilitates the continuity or incorporation of mothers, fathers and caregivers into their work activities, guaranteeing girls and boys services appropriate to their development needs.
President Santiago Peña explained that these actions respond to a comprehensive vision of development, which seeks concrete answers in different social areas. In that sense, he linked early childhood care with Zero Hunger in schools, the construction of the Great Hospital of the North, the generation of employment and access to decent housing, as policies that advance in an articulated manner in Concepción and at the national level.
The Minister of Children and Adolescents, Walter Gutiérrez, pointed out that this policy transcends the construction of infrastructure and articulates services for children and their families. Added to this strategy are 18 library buses, one for each department and one for Asunción, which allow reading, games and services to be brought closer to rural, indigenous communities and localities where CAIPI do not yet exist.
In the department, construction of the Horqueta center has already begun, while new spaces are planned in Yby Yaú and San Lázaro. The initiative is articulated by MINNA, the Office of the First Lady and the MOPC, with resources from Itaipú Binacional through the Itaipú Technology Park (PTI), coming from the resources obtained after the negotiation of the Binacional rate with Brazil, closed in May 2024.
Strategic actions to expand opportunities
The Government's day in Concepción reflects this intervention in different areas, with actions in health, security, productive infrastructure and housing solutions for families in the department.
“Concepción is becoming a symbol of change in Paraguay,” stated the President, highlighting that the works and programs that are advancing in the department are already expanding services and generating new opportunities for families. The head of state assured that this process will continue with new investments and works in different sectors.
