On Thursday, August 13, 2026, President John Dramani Mahama will begin a two-day #ResettingGhana Tour of the Upper East Region.
This visit highlights the President’s commitment to his core campaign pledge to lead an inclusive, participatory government that engages citizens, addresses their concerns, and ensures accountability.
During the tour, President Mahama will conduct project inspections and engage with citizens, demonstrating that national progress requires collaboration between leadership and the public.
The President will start his tour by inspecting the Bolgatanga Airport project site, a key infrastructure initiative to enhance regional commerce and connectivity. He will then review progress on the Chuchuliga–Sandema road, a major project under the Big Push infrastructure initiative.
Fulfilling his promise to complete abandoned public investments, President Mahama will commission the completed Community Day Senior High School (‘E’ Block) at Paga. Left unfinished since 2016 despite local appeals, this project demonstrates the administration’s commitment to expanding educational access.
At the Zuarungu Health Centre, the President will host an educational durbar to inform residents about the rollout and operation of the Free Primary Health Care programme.
On Friday, the President will inspect the construction of a four-storey laboratory complex at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Navrongo to strengthen STEM education in the region. He will also break ground for the Tongo-Shega-Pelungu road project.
The two-day visit will conclude with the #ResettingGhana Citizens Engagement in Bolgatanga. Fulfilling his campaign promise to prioritise public accountability, President Mahama will meet directly with chiefs, religious leaders, youth groups, opinion leaders, and residents from all 15 districts.
These engagements will provide updates on key government policies, administrative reforms, ongoing development projects in the Upper East Region, and measures to ensure citizens’ security and safety.
A Question and Answer session will give citizens an open platform to provide feedback, seek clarification, and contribute to policy development.
