Kuwait City, Aug. 12 (SANA)Kuwait’s Interior Ministry said Wednesday it had foiled a terrorist plot targeting a vital facility in the country and arrested a member of Daesh (ISIS) terrorist organization following extensive security surveillance.

The ministry said in a statement on X that investigations revealed the suspect had received training in manufacturing explosives and drones and had built a drone intended for use in the planned attack.

It added that legal measures had been taken against the suspect, who was referred to the competent authorities for further investigation.

The ministry reaffirmed that security agencies would continue to monitor and confront any activities or plots threatening Kuwait’s security and stability.

In May, Kuwaiti authorities announced the arrest of a group of infiltrators who attempted to enter the country by sea to carry out hostile acts targeting Kuwait.F.J./M.Z.
