U.D. Presidentja Haxhiu: Green Fest prej vitesh i jep qytetit muzikë, art, ide dhe arsye të reja për t’u mbledhur bashkë
Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, participated tonight in the opening of the "Green Fest" festival in Mitrovica.
In her speech to the audience, U.D. President Haxhiu said: "I am glad that tonight I am here with you at Green Fest, right here in Mitrovica, which for many is known as the city of miners."
"But, before it became a city of miners, Mitrovica was a city of meeting points. Here, where Ibri joins Sitnica, the trade routes crossed and later the railway that connected the city of Mitrovica with many other places", said U.D. President Haxhiu.
She further said that with the establishment of Trepça, miners, engineers and families came from different parts of Kosovo, but also beyond, and brought with them language, customs, music, but also their experiences.
"From this movement was born a city with a rich urban life, with cinema, with theater, with jazz and rock music, with artists and writers who left an indelible mark on our culture. I believe that Green Fest also belongs to this tradition of Mitrovica. For 16 years, it has brought together music, art, young people, ideas and conversations about the city of Mitrovica itself.
During all these years, Green Fest has constantly returned to what Mitrovica has closest to it, to the rivers that pass through the city, to the lands, to the consequences left by the industry and this year to biodiversity", emphasized U.D. President Haxhiu. She went on to say that these are things that we have in front of our eyes every day and maybe we don't see them enough.
According to her, precisely when we talk about biodiversity, we talk about everything that surrounds us, about plants, about birds, fish, insects, about water, about the land, which enable their life, but also about the connections between them.
"Often nature is lost little by little, without us noticing. A river can flow as before, while there is less and less life inside it. Therefore, biodiversity is also a political issue. The state of water, land and air cannot depend only on the care of each one of us, but they need accurate data, control, strict and concrete measures and responsibility from the institutions as well", said U.D. President Haxhiu.
She further said that in nature no species survives alone, adding further that, at the end of the day, biodiversity is also a story of coexistence.
"And in Mitrovica, this word is related to the very history of this city. For many years, the differences have turned into borders and people are used to seeing the city from different sides. But, Mitrovica has been a city where rivers, work, knowledge, but also culture have met. This is Mitrovica that we should remember more often and highlight again", emphasized U.D. President Haxhiu.
She further said that the institutions of Kosovo are working every day for this Mitrovica.
"Culture is also returning to the spaces that belong to them. The 'Muharrem Qena' theater has been renovated, the 'Adem Jashari' stadium is being rebuilt, while the house of the famous Mitrovica poet Latif Berisha will be turned into a museum. But the city is not only made by the streets, bridges, schools or theaters, it is also made by the people who fill them with life, artists, musicians, organizers, young men and women, all those who for years create spaces where Mitrovica meets with itself, but also with others", said U.D. President Haxhiu.
In the end, U.D. President Haxhiu has said that for years Green Fest has been giving the city music, art, ideas and new reasons to gather together, and perhaps this is exactly how Mitrovica slowly emerges from the shadow of division, creating more and more things that unite us.

Ushtruesja e Detyrës së Presidentes së Republikës së Kosovës, Albulena Haxhiu, ka marrë pjesë sonte në hapjen e festivalit “Green Fest”, në Mitrovicë. Në fjalën e saj para të pranishmëve, U.D. Presidentja Haxhiu ka thënë: “Më vjen mirë që sonte jam me ju këtu në Green Fest, pikërisht këtu në Mitrovicë, që për shumëkë njihet si qyteti i minatorëve.” “Por, para se të bëhej qytet i minatorëve, Mitrovica ishte qytet i pikëtakimeve. Këtu ku bashkohet Ibri me Sitnicën u kryqëzuan rrugët e tregtisë dhe më vonë hekurudha që e lidhi qytetin e Mitrovicës me shumë vende të tjera”, u shpreh U.D. Presidentja Haxhiu. Ajo më tej ka thënë se me themelimin e Trepçës erdhën minatorë, inxhinierë e familje nga anë të ndryshme të Kosovës, por edhe më gjerë, dhe me vete sollën gjuhën, zakonet, muzikën, por po ashtu edhe përvojat e tyre. “Prej kësaj lëvizjeje lindi një qytet me një jetë të pasur urbane, me kinema, me teatër, me muzikën xhaz e rok, me artistë e shkrimtarë që lanë gjurmë të pashlyeshme në kulturën tonë. Besoj që edhe Green Fest i përket kësaj tradite të Mitrovicës. Prej 16 vjetësh ai sjell bashkë muzikën, artin, të rinjtë, idetë dhe bisedat për vetë qytetin e Mitrovicës. Gjatë gjithë këtyre viteve Green Fest është kthyer vazhdimisht tek ajo që Mitrovica e ka më pranë, te lumenjtë që kalojnë nëpër qytet, te tokat, te pasojat që ka lënë industria dhe sivjet te biodiversiteti”, ka theksuar U.D. Presidentja Haxhiu.Ajo tutje tha se janë gjëra që i kemi çdo ditë para syve dhe mbase nuk i shohim sa duhet. Sipas saj, pikërisht kur flasim për biodiversitetin, flasim për gjithë atë që na rrethon, për bimët, për shpendët, peshqit, insektet, për ujin, për tokën, që ua mundësojnë jetën, por edhe për lidhjet mes tyre. “Shpesh natyra humbet pak nga pak, pa na rënë në sy. Një lumë mund të rrjedhë si më parë, ndërkaq brenda tij të ketë gjithnjë e më pak jetë. Andaj, biodiversiteti është edhe çështje politike. Gjendja e ujit, e tokës dhe e ajrit nuk mund të varet vetëm nga kujdesi i secilit prej nesh, por për to duhen të dhëna të sakta, kontroll, masa të rrepta e konkrete dhe përgjegjësi po ashtu edhe nga institucionet”, ka thënë U.D. Presidentja Haxhiu. Ajo më tej ka thënë se në natyrë asnjë lloj nuk mbijeton krejt i vetëm, duke shtuar tutje se, në fund të ditës, biodiversiteti është edhe një histori bashkëjetese. “E në Mitrovicë, kjo fjalë lidhet me vetë historinë e këtij qyteti. Për shumë vite dallimet janë kthyer në kufi dhe njerëzit janë mësuar ta shohin qytetin sipas anëve. Por, Mitrovica ka qenë qytet ku janë takuar lumenjtë, puna, dija, por po ashtu edhe kultura. Kjo është Mitrovica që duhet ta kujtojmë më shpesh dhe ta nxjerrim përsëri në pah”, theksoi U.D. Presidentja Haxhiu. Ajo më tej ka thënë se institucionet e Kosovës po punojnë çdo ditë për këtë Mitrovicë. “Edhe kultura po kthehet në hapësirat që i takojnë. Teatri ‘Muharrem Qena’ është rinovuar, stadiumi ‘Adem Jashari’ po rindërtohet, ndërsa shtëpia e poetit të njohur mitrovicas Latif Berisha do të shndërrohet në muze. Por qytetin nuk e bëjnë vetëm rrugët, urat, shkollat apo teatrot, e bëjnë edhe njerëzit që i mbushin ato me jetë, artistët, muzikantët, organizatorët, të rinjtë e të rejat, të gjithë ata që prej vitesh krijojnë hapësira ku Mitrovica takohet me vetveten, por po ashtu edhe me të tjerët”, është shprehur U.D. Presidentja Haxhiu. Në fund, U.D. Presidentja Haxhiu ka thënë se Green Fest prej vitesh i jep qytetit muzikë, art, ide dhe arsye të reja për t’u mbledhur bashkë dhe ndoshta pikërisht kështu Mitrovica del dalëngadalë nga hija e ndarjes, duke krijuar gjithnjë e më shumë gjëra që na bashkojnë.
