Thanks Mr. Speaker. And had we not have the revenue so the CBI, you can well begin to imagine would have contracted maybe two times the amount that we would have contracted. So Mr. Speaker, so the CBI directly relates with this over job that we are speaking about. And I should not stand here, I don't believe any member should stand here and explain the importance of the CBI. But the reality is Mr. Speaker, some of them pretend like they don't know what the reality is and they pretend like they don't know what the um what the uh importance are of the citizenship by investment program. So I shall repeat Mr. Speaker. Because of the CBI Mr. Speaker, we were able to almost immediately respond to a number of challenges and I described a number of them before Mr. Speaker. A number of challenges we were able to respond. Almost immediately. At the time where Dominicans were suffering, lives will be in loss, um livelihoods will be misplaced Mr. Speaker. This is very same CBI that got us to act prompt to Mr. Speaker. Rapidly. When those larger countries promised us millions and hundreds of millions of dollars in support Mr. Speaker. We are still waiting for for that support. So had we not have the CBI, where would we have been? The over job that we are speaking about today, had it not been for the CBI, may have been quadrupled as a result Mr. Speaker. So it is absolutely important to protect the CBI. So we want to reassure our partners Mr. Speaker with concerns that we listen to you, we hear you. And as we have done in the past, um we'll do whatever is necessary Mr. Speaker to alleviate you from those concerns Mr. Speaker. At the end of the day we we we will dialogue. We are talking nation. We like to talk Mr. Speaker. That is why our national um animal is a bird Mr. Speaker, a parrot Mr. Speaker. So we are prepared to talk, we prepared to dialogue Mr. Speaker, um in an effort to uh read our partners of uh of um those concerns. Some mention was made about tapping into our financial service unit, Mr. Speaker, as it relates to um finding an industry that can basically help in expanding our economy. I'm speaking about the budget, Mr. Speaker, because at the end of the day, this facility that we're asking for is to basically support the budget. So, online gaming. The minister made mention of it. When we look at different Caribbean countries like Curaçao, Curaçao has generated hundreds of millions of dollars, US dollars, as direct revenues from online gaming, Mr. Speaker. Thousands of jobs were created. Mr. Speaker, and if the same was going to be replicated in Dominica, Mr. Speaker, in a workable way, we may not even have be having this conversation today about an overdraft, Mr. Speaker. So, it is extremely important to grow our economy, diversify our economy, Mr. Speaker. So, I fully support these sort of measures, Mr. Speaker. So, having that said, I want to digress. I think I have spoken extensively on this matter, Mr. Speaker, but just to reiterate, I fully support this overdraft facility that is being requested before this honorable house. And good afternoon to all of those present. Mr. Speaker, I rise to support the resolution before the honorable house, which seeks authorization for the credit facilities amounting to 1 108.25 million, Mr. Speaker. And this credit facility for for the financial year 2026-2027, Mr. Speaker. Mr. Speaker, but before I move further, I just wanted to pause to acknowledge the present matter in my constituency. It has raised quite a bit of discourse. And that is our missing teenager, Jeviah Paul. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and with her wherever she may be. Mr. Speaker, and I still want to encourage the public whether once you have information, ensure that it is credible. Ensure that it is not one that is belittling and painful to the family. And please share it with the necessary authority, the police. And I just want to encourage us to to keep the family in our prayers as they go through this very painful period. Um Almost every night before I go to bed, I see the smiling face
