Referring to the deep historical, cultural and people-to-people ties between the two countries, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Masoud Bizikian, said on Tuesday evening in a meeting with the Minister of Interior of Pakistan, Mr. Seyed Mohsen Naqvi, that the love and interest of the Prime Minister and other officials of Pakistan for solidarity, strengthening relations and developing relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran is very valuable for Tehran. Emphasizing the necessity of using the vast capacities available to improve the level of bilateral cooperation, the President stated: The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to further deepen its relations with Pakistan in all areas of interest to both countries and provide the basis for the development of joint cooperation. Referring to the importance of Iran-Pakistan relations in the framework of regional relations, Dr. Mezikian emphasized the need to strengthen interactions between the two countries and take advantage of the existing capacities to expand economic and commercial, cultural and security cooperation and said: the development of bilateral relations and deepening of cooperation can help ensure the mutual interests of the two nations and strengthen the stability and security of the region. In this meeting, Mr. Seyed Mohsen Naqvi, the Minister of Interior of Pakistan, while expressing his satisfaction with the meeting with Dr. Mezikian, stated that the purpose of his visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran was to follow up on the agreements and understandings obtained from the recent visit of Dr. Momeni, the Minister of Interior of Iran to Pakistan. Emphasizing on the strong and long-standing ties between the two countries, the Minister of Interior of Pakistan stated: Iran-Pakistan relations are strong and unbreakable, and Islamabad pursues the all-round development of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran with serious determination.
