Syria and Czech Republic sign agreement to improve drinking water access

Damascus, Aug. 12 (SANA)The Damascus General Establishment for Drinking Water and Sanitation has signed an agreement withCzechcompany Ekomonitor to improve access to safe drinking water in al-Ghazlaniyah inDamascus Countryside.

The project, funded by a Czech government grant under an assistance program for Syria’s reconstruction, will focus on rehabilitating localwater infrastructureand improving the reliability of drinking water supplies.

Under the agreement, a water station in al-Ghazlaniyah will be rehabilitated and equipped with a solar power system, while a water treatment plant will also be installed in the town.

The project is part of efforts to restore essential water infrastructure and expand access to safe drinking water in communities where public services were severely affected by years of war.
