Executives and specialists from Hydroproject JSC and other organizations within the Uzbekhydroenergo system attended the event, along with representatives of Turonbank JSCB and approximately 20 entrepreneurs.

The discussions centered on developing hydropower, expanding the construction of small and micro hydropower plants, and engaging the private sector in project implementation through public-private partnerships.

Islom Abdurakhmanov stated that the government is leading large-scale hydropower projects in Uzbekistan, with the President’s initiative and support. Uzbekhydroenergo JSC focuses on maximizing the use of local resources and fostering a favorable environment for private sector businesses and entrepreneurs.

Participants received information about the current sector activities, promising projects, the process for selecting sites for small and micro hydropower plants, project design, choosing technical solutions, and the supply of hydropower units, turbines, and generators.

Turonbank JSCB representatives informed entrepreneurs about available options for concessional loans and financing conditions.

Uzbekhydroenergo JSC has confirmed its commitment to supporting private-sector projects by providing comprehensive organizational, technical, and practical assistance throughout all stages – from initial development to full commissioning. They will focus on swiftly addressing any issues that arise on site and developing targeted solutions.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the production capabilities of the UzHydroPower plant. The enterprise was established in collaboration with Chinese firm Zhejiang Jinlun Electromechanic, and focuses on manufacturing modern hydropower units, turbines, generators, pumping systems, and metal reservoir structures. It can produce equipment ranging from 1 kW to 40 MW. These capabilities enable increased use of domestically produced machinery in small and micro hydropower projects, offering modern, high-quality, and competitive solutions.

Following the meeting, entrepreneurs’ proposals and appeals were thoroughly examined, and actionable solutions were identified for each concern.
