Occupied Jerusalem, Aug. 12 (SANA)Israeli occupation forceson Wednesday arrested seven Palestinians and demolished two homes and 40commercial structuresduring raids in several areas of the occupiedWest Bank, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

The occupation forces raided the towns of Al-Yamun, Arraba, Silat al-Harithiya, Silat al-Dhahr and Arabuna in Jenin, as well as Beitunia west of Ramallah, neighborhoods in Al-Bireh and Al-Shuweika suburb of Tulkarm, and arrested seven Palestinians, including a journalist.

They also raided the town of Tammun and the village of Tayasir, south and east of Tubas, respectively, as well as Balata refugee camp east of Nablus, with no arrests reported.

Two homes and 40 commercial structures demolished

In Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Al-Ma’sara village south of Bethlehem, the occupation forces demolished two homes, one of them a three-story house, displacing their residents.

The occupation authorities also began demolishing 40 commercial structures along the road linking Marj Ibn Amer Roundabout with Aaba village and extending to the Haddad junction east of Jenin. They closed roads leading to the area in conjunction with the demolition operation.

The occupation forces closed the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron and prevented worshippers from reaching it to facilitate settlers’ incursions. They also raided and searched several homes in the city.

Settlers besiege Palestinian home for fourth consecutive day

In Nablus, settlers continued for the fourth consecutive day to besiege a Palestinian family’s home on the summit of Ras al-Ain Mountain in Qusra, preventing residents from reaching it. They also erected a tent around the home under the protection of the occupation army in an attempt to seize it.

On July 22, settlers seized a home in Jalud village, south of Nablus, after forcing its Palestinian owners to leave following a siege that lasted more than three months, during which they assaulted them daily.

According to theWall and Settlement Resistance Commission, occupation forces and settlers carried out 2,256 attacks against Palestinians, their land and property in the West Bank during July.

4,769 young Palestinians held in occupation prisons

Head of the Palestinian Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Raed Abu al-Homs said that 4,769 young men and women aged between 18 and 40 are being held in Israeli occupation prisons.

In a statement marking International Youth Day, observed on Aug. 12 each year, Abu al-Homs said that the number of young male detainees stands at 4,713, while the number of female detainees is 56.

He added that the number of prisoner martyrs since Oct. 7, 2023, has reached 41 out of a total of 91, while the bodies of 40 of them remain withheld, in addition to dozens of bodies from different age groups.

Abu al-Homs called oninternational communityinstitutions, particularly those concerned with youth affairs, to reject the targeting of Palestinian youth and to raise their voices in support of their right to live their lives away from occupation violations and crimes.
