At least 10 killed in reciprocal Russian and Ukrainian strikes
Kyiv, Moscow Aug 11 (SANA)At least nine people were killed and dozens injured inRussian strikeson Ukraine, while one person was killed and others injured in aUkrainian drone strikeon the Russian city of Voronezh, according to Ukrainian and Russian officials.
AFP quoted Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, as saying that Russian forces launched a “large-scale” overnight attack on the city with missiles and guided bombs, killing six people and injuring 19 others. Residential buildings and non-residential facilities were also damaged.
Oleksandr Hanja, head of the local military administration, said Russian forces also carried out drone and artillery attacks on five areas of Ukraine’s eastern Dnipropetrovsk region, killing three people, including a 15-year-old boy, and injuring five others.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said a fire broke out at a warehouse in the capital Kyiv, leaving one person injured.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said its forces targeted companies inUkraine’s military-industrial sector, as well as transport and logistics hubs in Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia, using “Max” missiles.
Meanwhile, Ukraine stepped up its strikes on Russian cities overnight. The governor of Russia’s Voronezh region said a drone strike killed a 49-year-old man and injured several others. He said the attack targeted a logistics center and warehouses belonging to a major company in the region.
The latest attacks come amid continued escalation in theRussia-Ukraine war, with Ukraine intensifying long-range strikes against targets insideRussiain recent months, while Russia continues to launch missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities, particularly Kyiv.
