Damascus, Aug. 11 (SANA)Minister of InformationKhaled Zaaroursaid Tuesday that the death sentences issued against senior figures of the ousted regime represent a new victory for Syrians and a clear affirmation that there will be no impunity.

Zaarour stressed in his post on X, that the transitional justice process and national efforts remain the genuine guarantee of the rights of the victims of the Syrian revolution and a fundamental pillar for closing the chapter of authoritarian rule and building a new Syria.

Earlier on Tuesday, the fourth criminalcourtin Damascus sentenced head of the ousted regime Bashar al-Assad and several former officials to death after convicting them of crimes including premeditated murder, torture, arbitrary detention and crimes against humanity.
