Damascus, Aug. 11 (SANA)Agriculture MinisterBasel al-Suwaidanmet on Monday withEsraa Hamdan, Chairwoman ofEMBS Companyfor Administrative Engineering and Quality, and the accompanying delegation to discuss theMinistry of Agriculture’s role in enhancing food safety, developing food supply chains, and mechanisms for cooperation in this field.Al-Suwaidan affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring clean and safe agricultural products free of harmful residues through efforts to amend regulations and laws governing the import of pesticides, fertilizers, and veterinary medicines, create a competitive environment, and strengthen monitoring and laboratory analysis operations in accordance with strict standards to ensure the safety and quality of agricultural products.The minister noted that agricultural products represent the primary raw material for food and food industries, stressing that Syrian agricultural products enjoy high quality and meet high standards, enhancing their opportunities in foreign markets and supporting export potential.He also highlighted the Ministry’s interest in rural products, supporting rural development, and empowering rural women by providing the necessary guidance to develop production, packaging, and marketing processes, helping increase the added value of products and improve producers’ access to markets.Al-Suwaidan affirmed the Ministry’s readiness to form a working team from the relevant directorates in cooperation with EMBS Company to review the issues raised and establish practical frameworks for cooperation that achieve shared objectives.For her part, Hamdan presented an overview of the company’s work and areas of focus, particularly food safety, administrative development, capacity building, and training. She also highlighted programs for training farmers and empowering rural women, outlining the proposed cooperation mechanism with the Ministry of Agriculture in line with the priorities and objectives presented.Established in 2022, EMBS Company for Administrative Engineering and Quality specializes in administrative engineering and business development, providing integrated solutions for establishing companies, designing factories, reducing waste, and training personnel.
