Damascus, Aug. 11 (SANA)SyrianCivil Defenseaffiliated with the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management announced Tuesday through its telegram channel responding to 23road accidentsreported in different parts of Syria on Monday, resulting in injuries to 30 people.

The Civil defense teams provided first aid to those injured before transferring them to hospitals to receive necessary medical treatment. They also removed accident debris and secured the affected locations.

The Civil Defense urged drivers to reduce speed and ensure their vehicles are technically safe, particularly checking brakes and windshield wipers. It also called on motorists to avoid distractions while driving, including mobile phone use.

Civil Defense teams responded to 127firesacross Syria, extinguishing the fires and cooling affected areas, according to the statement.

The Civil Defense said no civilian injuries were recorded in the fires, with damage limited to property losses.

It renewed calls for citizens to avoid lighting fires in forested areas and agricultural fields, and warned against throwing cigarette butts or glass containers on roadsides, especially near crops and forests.

The Civil Defense also urged people not to burn dry vegetation around homes or along roads, recommending its removal through safe methods instead.

A previous Civil Defense report said one person was killed and 30 others were injured in separate road accidents across several Syrian provinces on Sunday.
