Israeli forces and settlers injure 12 Palestinians, detain 20 in West Bank
Occupied Jerusalem, Aug. 11 (SANA)Israeli forces and settlers injured 12 Palestinians, while Israeli forces detained 20 others during attacks and raids across the occupiedWest Bankon Tuesday, according to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa.Wafa reported that six Palestinians, including two children, were injured after Israeli soldiers assaulted them during a raid on the town of Burqa, northwest of Nablus.In the Ramallah area, dozens ofIsraeli settlers, protected by Israeli forces, attacked Palestinians in the al-Mughayyir plain and fired tear gas at them while they were plowing their land. Six Palestinians, including three children and two women, suffered breathing difficulties after inhaling the gas.The village of al-Mughayyir and surrounding communities northeast of Ramallah have been subjected to repeated attacks by settlers, alongside ongoing Israeli military raids.According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli forces and settlers carried out 2,256 attacks against Palestinians, their lands and property across the West Bank in July. Israeli forces carried out 1,458 of the attacks, while settlers carried out 798.Detentions continue across the West BankIsraeli forces detained 11 Palestinians, including a former prisoner, during overnight raids targeting neighborhoods in Jenin city and towns and villages across the governorate.The forces also detained five Palestinians from different areas of Bethlehem governorate, two others in the Kafr Saba area of Qalqilya, and one Palestinian while he was grazing livestock in the northern Jordan Valley.Israeli forces also detained a 16-year-old Palestinian with a disability from the village of Beit Sira, west of Ramallah, after raiding and searching his family’s home.The forces further raided the town of al-Doha, west of Bethlehem, and deployed in the Tal’at al-Ghanem area and along the main road. They also raided the town of Tammun, south of Tubas, with several military patrols, deployed in several neighborhoods and searched a number of Palestinian homes without reporting any detentions.Meanwhile, Israeli settlers raided the villages of Awarta, Osarin and Sura in the Nablus area.Earlier, a Palestinian girl died after succumbing to injuries sustained several days earlier from gunfire by Israeli occupation forces in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip. Several Palestinians were also injured by Israeli forces’ fire in the Gaza Strip and Nablus, while 19 Palestinians were detained during Israeli raids in the West Bank.
