Santo Domingo.-The National Institute of Physical Education (Inefi) reactivated its “Grand National Tour for the Delivery of Sports Props and Renovated Fields” in several educational centers in Hato Mayor del Rey.

The activity was led by the executive director of Inefi, Alberto Rodríguez Mella, who delivered seven renovated fields in this eastern region of the country.

The beneficiary schools were the Rosa Duarte Lyceum, with three fields; the Francisco del Rosario Sánchez School, with two facilities, and the Bernardo Pichardo Lyceum, with one field.

During the day, Inefi technicians gave talks to physical education teachers, as well as their summer camp at the Juan Bosch School.

Rodríguez Mella also delivered the renovated sports facility of the Café con Leche School, located in Café de Herrera, Santo Domingo Oeste.

The budget director speaks

The director of the National Budget, José Rijo, praised the work of President Luis Abinader, and Alberto Rodríguez Mella, in front of the Inefi, who he said have been concerned about the development and advancement of physical education and school sports throughout the national territory.

Rijo also mentioned several physical education teachers from Hato Mayor, who highlighted the work carried out by these teachers in the educational centers of that province.

He took advantage of the occasion to congratulate all the Dominican athletes who obtained medals in the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, especially the women's volleyball team, better known as “The Queens of the Caribbean.”
