EU funding for safer pedestrian and cycling infrastructure in Krško
A new pedestrian and cyclist bridge will be constructed in Krško as part of the project, enhancing connectivity between key areas of the city and supporting the transition towards more sustainable modes of transport. The bridge will link existing pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, creating a safe, efficient, and accessible route for daily travel.
The new bridge will also provide a direct and safe connection between the city's sports and recreational facilities and the urban transport network.
The project will help reduce reliance on private car use, improve quality of life for local communities and support the city's efforts to reduce transport-related emissions. It will mark an important step towards a more sustainable, connected, and healthier city, providing residents with modern mobility options and supporting the transition to a low-carbon future.
The €6,518,046.45 project will be implemented under Slovenia's EU Cohesion Policy Programme and will receive €2,723,119.18 from the European Regional Development Fund. The beneficiary of the funding is the Urban Municipality of Krško.
