I was saddened to learn of the devastating earthquake that struck western Colombia yesterday, the most powerful to strike the country in decades. On behalf of the Government and people of Malaysia, I extend our condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives, and our sympathies to all those affected. Malaysia stands in solidarity with the people of Colombia at this difficult time. We pay tribute to the rescue workers and volunteers who continue to search for survivors amid continuing aftershocks, and pray for the swift recovery of the injured and the safe location of those still missing.
