The President of the Republic, José Antonio Kast, led this Monday the commemoration of Miner's Day in the Andean Division of Codelco, located in the commune of Los Andes, Valparaíso Region. The activity sought to recognize the work carried out daily by thousands of small, medium and large mining workers throughout the country, also highlighting the importance of safety for the development of the sector. In his speech, the President pointed out that "we have to recover that national pride that is CODELCO. We have all seen this symbol and you carry it here, next to your heart. We must take care of that, we must treasure it. Because many times the seriousness and depth of what it is is not taken. the mining challenge that our nation faces. We are pioneers worldwide. We can rescue much more from just exporting the concentrate. We have enormous human capital to develop and it is in the hands of you, the future of mining." The commemoration included a simultaneous deployment in different regions of Chile. While the Head of State participated in the ceremony from the Andean Division together with the Minister of Finance, Jorge Quiroz; and the president of Codelco, Bernardo Fontaine; The bi-minister of Economy and Mining, Daniel Mas, participated from the Collahuasi mine, in the Tarapacá Region, and the undersecretary of Mining, Álvaro González, carried out activities in the Coquimbo Region. The activity was part of the national commemoration of Miner's Day and seeks to reinforce recognition of the contribution that this productive activity and its workers make to the development of Chile.
