OMSA y TRAE culminan con éxito operativo de transporte de los Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe Santo Domingo 2026
Santo Domingo.– With the culmination of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, the transportation operation that allowed the safe, organized and efficient mobilization of more than 37,725 people mobilized during the period of the sports celebration concluded successfully.
The Integrated Traffic and Transportation Control System (Sictra) for the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 was directed by engineer Onéximo González, executive vice president of the Metropolitan Bus Services Operator (OMSA), who was responsible for the general coordination of the mobility operation, with the support of the Ministry of Education, under the direction of Minister Luis Miguel De CampsGarcía, and the participation of the National Transportation System Student (TRAE), directed by Luis Felipe Cartagena, whose teams were integrated into the mobility device prepared for the Games.
To guarantee the service, 400 buses were used, more than 40 routes and more than 2,000 daily dispatches were made from the Operations Center located in Module C2 of the OMSA, in the V Centenario Hippodrome, where they worked 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the development of the Games, all of this supervised through the TRAE Monitoring Center that monitored each trip in real time.
González highlighted the support of the government of President Luis Abinader and thanked the commitment of all those who made the operation possible. "We leave with the satisfaction of having fulfilled our duty. This result was possible thanks to the work of a great team that assumed this responsibility with dedication and commitment," he expressed.
He highlighted that during the Games, the drivers, technicians, collaborators, dispatchers and all operational personnel worked long days to guarantee movements between the Olympic village and venues, airport operation, special services and security monitoring, demonstrating a high sense of responsibility so that each athlete, technician and member of the delegations arrived on time and safely at their destination.
Likewise, he thanked the work of the coordinating team made up of those in charge of TRAE Operations, Mélido Agramonte and Jose Oreste Martínez, General Frank Adames, in charge of Mobility Security; Alexis Disla, supervisor of the Central American Games; Junior Páez, Games coordinator. Para garantizar el servicio, se utilizaron400 autobuses, más de 40 rutasy se realizaronmás de 2,000 despachos diariosdesde el Centro de Operaciones ubicado en el Módulo C2 de la OMSA, en el Hipódromo V Centenario, donde trabajaronlas 24 horas al día, los siete días de la semana durante el desarrollo de los Juegos, todo esto supervisado a través delCentro de Monitoreo del TRAEque en tiempo real daba seguimiento a cada viaje. González destacó elrespaldo del gobierno del presidente Luis Abinadery agradeció el compromiso de todos los que hicieron posible el operativo.“Nos vamos con la satisfacción del deber cumplido. Este resultado fue posible gracias al trabajo de un gran equipo que asumió esta responsabilidad con entrega y compromiso”,expresó. Resaltó que durante los Juegos,los choferes, técnicos, colaboradores, despachadores y todo el personal operativotrabajó largas jornadas, para garantizar los movimientos entre la villa olímpica y sedes, operación aeroportuaria, servicios especiales y monitoreo de seguridad, demostrando unalto sentido de responsabilidadpara que cada atleta, técnico y miembro de las delegaciones llegara a tiempo y de manera segura a su destino.
