Oil prices rise amid uncertainty over reopening of Strait of Hormuz
London, Aug. 10 (SANA)Oil pricesrose on Monday as uncertainty persisted over the reopening of theStrait of Hormuzto maritime traffic.
Brent crudefutures gained $1.20, or 1.44 percent, to trade at $84.79 a barrel, Reuters reported.
US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude also increased by $1.12, or 1.08 percent, reaching $79.29 a barrel.
The rise came amid ongoing political and military developments in the region, after Iran said an agreement with Oman on establishing new maritime routes had reached its final stages, while noting that additional conditions must be met by the United States to ensure stable maritime navigation.
