More than 3.5 million tons of goods transported within and outside Syria in July
Damascus, Aug 10 (SANA)The volume of goods transported through the Directorate of Goods Transport Regulation atthe Syrian Ministry of Transportduring July amounted to 3,554,323 tons, including 3,427,490 tons transported within Syria and 126,833 tons transported abroad.
Director of the Directorate Khaled Keshheh told SANA that the total number of shipments carried out during July reached 221,603, including 69,723 turn-based shipments carried out through transport scheduling offices and 151,880 private shipments.
Aleppo leads in domestic transport
Keshheh said thatAleppo Governorateranked first among the governorates in terms of the volume of goods transported domestically, with a total of 1,421,253 tons, followed by Deir Ezzor with 499,527 tons, Tartous with 456,022 tons, and Raqqa with 393,930 tons.
He noted thatthe transport movementcovered various types of goods, particularly grain, cement, iron, fodder and livestock, pointing out that the Directorate worked to regulate the movement of goods and meet the needs of various governorates and areas throughout July.
Idlib leads in international transport
Keshheh added that the volume of goods transported outside Syria was concentrated mainly in Idlib, with 115,040 tons, followed by Tartous with 10,893 tons and Latakia with 900 tons.
Earlier, the Directorate of Goods Transport Regulation at the Syrian Ministry of Transport announced that the total volume of goods transported during the first half of 2026 reached 24,529,155 tons through domestic and international transport operations.
