Deir Ezzor National Hospital opens new cardiac and prosthetic units with UNDP, SAMS
Deir Ezzor, Aug. 10 (SANA)Syrian Minister of Health Musab al-Ali inaugurated on Monday several medical and service projects at Deir Ezzor National Hospital to enhance healthcare services in the province.
According to the Ministry of Health’s Telegram channel, the newly opened projects include a cardiac catheterization department established in cooperation with theSyrian American Medical Society (SAMS).
The unit features an integrated cardiac catheterization device and a 16-bed cardiac care unit, set to enter service within a week as the first facility of its kind inDeir Ezzorand the eastern region.
The ministry noted that a new prosthetic manufacturing center, established in coordination with theUnited Nations Development Programme (UNDP), was also opened to provide lower-limb prosthetics, training, and rehabilitation.
The expansion of the emergency department added eight new beds and separated internal medicine emergency from surgical emergency to organize workflow for the 500 to 600 daily cases received.
Earlier on Monday, Minister al-Ali laid the foundation stone for an oncology hospital and opened new units at the Children and Maternity Hospital to raise the capacity and quality of care for newborns and children.
