One killed, 30 injured in 26 traffic accidents across Syria in 24 hours
Damascus, Aug. 10 (SANA)One person was killed and 30 others injured in 26traffic accidentsreported across several Syrian provinces during the past 24 hours, according to the Syrian Civil Defense.
Teams from theMinistry of Emergency and Disaster Managementresponded to the accidents, providing first aid to those injured before transferring them to hospitals for necessary treatment.
TheCivil Defensesaid its teams also cleared the accident sites and secured the affected areas.
The Civil Defense urged drivers to reduce speed, check their vehicles’ technical condition, including brakes and windshield wipers, and avoid distractions such as mobile phone use while driving.
In separate operations, Syrian Civil Defense teams responded to 133firesacross Syria during the same period.
The Civil Defense said six fires occurred in fields and agricultural crops, while 127 fires affected homes, commercial shops, grass, trees, garbage and electrical wires.
The teams extinguished the fires and cooled the affected sites. No injuries were reported, while damages were limited to property losses.
The Civil Defense called on residents to avoid starting fires in wooded areas and agricultural fields, and warned against throwing cigarette butts or glass containers on roadsides, especially near crops and forests.
It also advised against burning dry vegetation around homes or along roads, urging residents to remove it through safe methods.
