His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country, and his brother, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of sisterly Oman, held a session at the Palace of Governance this morning.

At the beginning of the session, His Highness the Emir welcomed His Majesty the Sultan and the delegation accompanying him, wishing His Majesty good health and wellness, and the fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries further development and growth.

His Highness praised the depth of the historical relations between the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman, stressing the State of Qatar's keenness to continue strengthening cooperation and partnership between the two countries, in a way that achieves the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples and their common interests.

For his part, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Emir for the warm reception and generous hospitality. His Majesty also expressed his pleasure at this visit and meeting with His Highness the Emir, stressing the Sultanate of Oman’s interest in consolidating the bonds of cooperation and coordination between the two countries in a way that strengthens the established fraternal relations and opens broader horizons for joint cooperation in various fields.

During the session, the close fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries were reviewed, and ways to strengthen and develop them at various levels, in addition to exchanging views on a number of issues of common interest.

The session was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), His Excellency Mr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Khulaifi, Head of the Amiri Diwan, His Excellency Mr. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani, Minister of Transportation, and His Excellency Mr. Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs.

On the Omani side, the session was attended by His Highness Sayyid Balarab bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat, His Excellency Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, His Excellency General Sultan bin Muhammad Al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office, His Excellency Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, His Excellency Engineer Salem bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, and a number of Their Excellencies members of the accompanying official delegation.

Following the session, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country, held a luncheon in honor of his brother, His Majesty the Sultan, and the accompanying delegation, attended by a number of Their Excellencies sheikhs, ministers, and senior officials from both sides.
