Electors in the Roseau North Constituency will go to the polls on Monday, September 7, 2026, to elect a new Parliamentary Representative.

Nomination Day will be Friday, August 21, 2026.

Prime Minister Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit has advised Her Excellency, the President of the Commonwealth of Dominica, to issue a Writ under the Public Seal of the State declaring that a by-election be held in the constituency, pursuant to Section 12 of the House of Assembly (Elections) Act, Chapter 2:01.

The Roseau North seat became vacant following the resignation of Honourable Miriam Blanchard on June 12, 2026.

Section 55 (3) of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Dominica provides that where the seat of a Representative falls vacant, other than by reason of a dissolution of the House, a by-election shall be held to fill the vacancy within three months of the occurrence of the vacancy, unless the House is sooner dissolved.

Prime Minister Skerrit urged all eligible electors in Roseau North to participate in the by-election and called for a peaceful, orderly and issue-based campaign.

“The Dominica Labour Party, which I have the honour to lead, looks forward to engaging the people of Roseau North throughout this by-election campaign, presenting our vision for the continued development of the constituency and the country,” he said.
