Damascus governor, UNHCR discuss humanitarian, service cooperation
Damascus, Aug. 9 (SANA)Damascus Governor Maher Marwan Idlibi met on Sunday with Kevin J. Allen, Representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Syria, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and coordination to support humanitarian and service efforts in the capital.
The meeting discussed the implementation of programs that address the needs of citizens and displaced persons, while stressing the importance of continued joint work across various fields, according to a statement on the governorate’s Telegram channel.
The talks are part of ongoing cooperation between the Syrian government and UNHCR. Over recent months, several Syrian provinces have held discussions with UNHCR representatives to strengthen coordination and align programs and projects withhumanitarianand service priorities.
