Damascus Countryside, Aug. 9 (SANA)TheDefense Ministry‘s Engineering Department on Sunday eliminated nearly one ton of war remnants in the vicinity of Shaqhab near Kanaker, inDamascus Countryside, following a report from local residents about hazardous materials in the area.

The Department said that the team transferred the remnants to a secure site before destroying them in line with approved procedures.

The operation helps reduce risks to civilians and ensures the safety of surrounding communities, officials said.

The operation is part of ongoing national efforts to address war remnants scattered across several regions, respond to citizen reports, and secure affected areas.
